With plans of trying to start S on some solids next month, I’m thinking of getting either some discount rugs or mats to put on top of the carpet. That way in case of spills/accidents it will be easy to clean and at least avoid damaging the carpet in the house. Sometimes it makes you wish that they put in tiles instead of carpets but then that would be really cold in the winter months. In any case I really have to decide on what to get or maybe just get the spill mat that they sell in the baby shops?
