causes
With all the causes that need attention and help in fund raising there sure is no shortage of things or events to do for a fundraiser. One of those would be a golf tournament specifically targeted for those that are gold enthusiasts and want that relaxing weekend on the golf course. They would specially need golf trophies to give away as prizes to the participants, a small token and bragging rights in exchange for the fees and donations that they would give.

I was watching TMZ the other day and they showed a picture of model Bar Rafaeli posing covered with mud from the Dead Sea. They say it’s good for your skin because of the different mineral composition of the Dead Sea and from there one the TMZ peeps mentioned that when you put the mud on your skin it burns esp on the private parts. Their discussion was soo funny. Anyways, there are dead sea salt (bath salts) that are being sold and it is pretty popular for its reputed therapeutic effects. I haven’t tried it yet nor do I know anyone who has used the bath salts, for those that have, how good is it?

Apart from the state of economy in a country there are also a number of other factors where you can’t work. One of the reason can be from injury or illness that can prevent you from doing work that you would normally do. It is a good thing that here you can get welfare benefits to help you along while you can’t do work to earn income. In the US you can try to apply for SSDI to help you get sorted while you are out of work. There are even companies there that can help you sort out if you are eligible to apply for SSDI or not.

I don’t really know anything about cigars but apparently romeo y julieta 1875 is a good reasonably priced cigar. At least that was what I wast told during one random conversation. I forgot how it came up in conversation because I don’t smoke and I don’t really have any intentions to. I think it was because of something that we watched. Really funny how you end up with topics that you talk about.

I came across cake pops while browsing for cupcake suppliers. They are so cute and I am also in awe with the design ideas that people come up with. Makes me believe that maybe I can do some too haha. Me without a baking or cooking bone in my body. I wonder if I can do some for either sab’s or E’s birthday. I saw some recipes that made do with premixed cake mix as base and used cake pop moulds, maybe that would be easier or maybe just have some brownie pops delivered instead.

These days there are lots of commercials about different types of insurances on tv. There are even ads on websites that give you quick comparisons of insurance quotes that you need. Aside from life insurance quotes, there’s even an ad on now about insurance for stay at home moms, or income insurance and health insurance. You can pretty much be insured for anything that you want.

One of the things that we want little boy to learn is how to ride a bike. So far, he knows how to with training wheels. I think he needs to practice a bit more and soon try to get those training wheels off. Might be time to bring him to the park to try and practice. Oh and when it’s time for the little girl to learn how to ride a bike that it might be time to buy thule bike racks to be able to bring all the bikes to the park

Aside from the wedding itself, I’m sure our brothers are already thinking of after the wedding. Things like where they will live and start their married life. My brother-in-law would most likely continue living overseas but I’m still not sure if they will move into their own flat or continue living with their flatmates. Same goes for my brother. So if and when they do decide on their own flat or house then they would most probably start furnishing them as well. It’s a good thing there are a lot of furnishings (adirondack furniture anyone?) available from low-cost to real fancy ones. It would enable them to be within budget.

The senior class (that’s yr6) last year at E’s school, gifted the school with a screen projector (much like da lite screens) for the school hall. It has been very useful for the different events that the school has been celebrating like the recent French national day. This year instead of Mandarin they have been learning French and in line with that they decided to celebrate French National Day during the last day of Term2. It was really nice to see the kids speak and sing in French.

Wow! Time surely flies, I can’t believe it’s a little more than halfway through the year. Where did the past months go! We’re currently down to the last days of the winter school holiday and we’ll be back to the regular grind of drop-offs, pickups and homework next week. In 4 mos time, little girl will be turning 2! I wonder how we’ll celebrate this year. I’m hoping we can do a quick getaway like last year to celebrate not only little girl’s birthday but our 10th wedding anniversary as well. Hmm .. time to browse the different websites and check out if there are any promos. Pretty soon as well, it will be Christmas and there are a lot of toy sales and it is pretty tempting to lay-by a lot of the stuff for Christmas gifts. I also saw some promos for personalized kids gifts and I think these would make nice gifts especially to kids of schooling age. And I bet that would be appreciated by parents as well. Lots of planning to do.
