Have to go to the shops one of these days and check out a certain brand for a friend. Apparently it has one of the best wrinkle creams in the market or so they say haha. Good thing as most of the shops are on their financial year end sale or stock take sale. Have to check if they do carry the product and if they do hopefully they have it on sale too.
I just saw some photos on facebook of my brother at Universal Studios Singapore which just recently opened. How lucky is he that Singapore is just a short flight from Manila and that airfares from Manila to Singapore are super cheap these days. Not to mention that only more than a month ago he was in the US having fun in the land of Mickey. They surely got discount Disney World tickets to get that savings for a big group as theirs. Really hoping to be able to bring the two kiddos there someday.
A friend recently showed me a picture of a portable oxygen concentrator. What a difference for those (patients) needing to have higher concentrations of oxygen. I remember before when you had to rent big oxygen cylinders (tanks). It was terribly inconvenient and it was hard to move around the room when needed. Now with the oxygen concentrator they have a safer and more convenient alternative. I wonder though how much they differ with the rental costs?
These days you can notice in the media a focus on getting people to be fit and healthy. You can also see that with shows like the biggest loser having a lot of following. There is a lot of tie-ins with weight loss products from exercise equipments to food regimens that are flying off the shelves. I’ve noticed to that some of our friends have started running and joining 10K or 5K runs. Maybe it’s time to take it up too?
I saw some pictures of my friend the other day and she looked really amazing. She has slimmed down a lot and I was teasing her to recommend to me which weight loss supplements she took to lose all that pounds. I kid out of love but really amazed with how she did it all naturally, she frequented the gym and changed her diet. She really got her money’s worth with that really expensive gym membership.
Being a stay-at-home wife and mum for almost 9 years, I sometimes dream of going out and studying a course or something. There are a lot of online courses these days and some sites like http://www.bestonlinedegrees.org can point you to different online universities. For me I don’t think I’ll be able to go through studying again to gain another degree but maybe diploma courses or short courses will do, just to get to experience a whole different world to where I am now. Maybe …
One of the shows that I love watching are design shows. It is so fun to watch them redecorate the houses. One of the shows that I catch late night is a rerun of a renovation show similar to home improvement but the difference is they do only one or two rooms in the house. In one episode, they did the backyard and the outdoor décor that they used was just fabulous. They really took that backyard from just being plain to a place that you would want to spend some time in. And yes the owners were really happy too.
Hubby’s (extended) family are car enthusiasts. Though they don’t collect cars (I think they would if they had the dough haha) they can surely talk endlessly when cars are the topic. An uncle once owned an auto shop/garage that was popular. There were a few who came in and asked for Ferrari parts, I think they could source it but they don’t generally carry those parts. Another uncle is into racing, he raced on the local circuit and he even went abroad to take an F1 driving course. Nowadays, he’s into building race cars. Some cousins either went to work for garages or opened a car dealership. It’s still a question though if their liking for cars will rub off on the next generation.
With diabetes running in the family and with my mom the latest to be diagnosed with it. It helps to maintain a good diet to prevent being one. We try not to have too many sweets in the house, though we don’t deprive ourselves, we try to limit dessert intake. While googling diabetes on the internet, diabetic socks came up and it is supposed to help increase leg circulation and ease pain from swollen ankles and ulcers to help prevent nerve damage that can cause the feet to lose feeling. I wonder if my mom is supposed to start wearing these now? or is it better that she does? Have to remind her to ask her doctor about it.
Speaking of sales, I saw on a recent catalogue that one of the sports chain here has a deal on ellipticals. If you plan on getting some exercise equipment now would be a really good time. Me, I don’t think we’ll be getting one soon not that I don’t need the exercise (we all know I do :p) but we just don’t have the space. I would think that if we ever do get anything that resembles an equipment (haha!) it would be something that could easily be stored and nothing bulky.
