music : still in love with you video
I follow Wong Fu Productions over at youtube. They’ve been making videos for sometime now but I only discovered them maybe about a year ago. I think it was with one of the videos that they did with David Choi. I’ve always loved how they simple yet connected to the music the videos are. The song almost always is the star of the video. They recently were commissioned to do a video for Wang Lee Hom. For those that don’t know he is an American-born singer-songwriter/record producer/actor/film director who is based in Taiwan. And yes he is pretty popular. Here is the video that they did.
and behind the scenes on making the video

cars
As I was going through my news feed in facebook, I noticed that a friend posted some photos form a car show that they attended. I am not really a car enthusiast but looking at nice cars is not all that bad haha. The photos that he posted were of different stuff from the cars to the accessories (rockford fosgate anyone?) and also to the promo people that the different companies hire to highlight the cars on displays. Hmm, maybe we can go on the next car show that they have here, I’m sure hubby would love that.

A few weeks ago, Australia celebrated the Melbourne Cup. It is a major celebration here, it is even a holiday in Melbourne. Of course the event centers around horse racing, I would think that around these times there would be a peak in checking out english horse tacks. Of course we can’t forget that as much as the focus is on the racing, there is also a big fuss on the fashion. It isĀ really a production for the ladies with what dress to wear with what shoes and with what fascinator or hat. You can really tell that effort has been put in, it is also a great excuse to get together with friends and celebrate the event.

.. to look a lot like Christmas!! A little more than a month to go. Sometimes I still miss celebrating Christmas in Manila. As early as September you can already hear Christmas songs being played on the radio and all the malls are surely decorated in Christmas trimming by then. Plus all the hustle and bustle of buying gifts, organising gatherings and celebrating the season with family and friends. One of the things that the kids always look forward to are the presents that they will be getting or some the RedEnvelopes or hong bao that contains money. Over on hubby’s side of the family, all the cousins usually get hong bao’s from all the aunts and uncles during the big family gathering over New Year’s. That said, we are looking forward to spending time with family next holidays. Hope this coming holidays are bright and merry for everyone.

Every once in a while, I get this urge to clean our balcony. I feel like a simple sweep of the area won’t do. I want to have the floor washed. The only problem is it is very inconvenient to be carrying in and out buckets of water from the bathroom to the balcony just to do this (which incidentally I’ve had to do a few times). I was telling hubby that it is so tempting to clean the balcony when it is heavily raining to make good use of the water haha. And yeah I know a simple flex tubing like a garden hose will most probably solve my problem. I think I have to drag myself to the nearest Bunning’s to buy one.

It is starting to get warmer and it is really starting to feel like summer. Only a few more weeks to go and this will be our fourth summer here. I hope it will not be as hot as last year’s. After a cold and a little wet week, the sun shone and we decided to go to one of the nearby beaches. E was so excited when we told him what we were doing for the day. He just loves beaches, particularly the sand. He just had a blast playing on the sand and apparently S has the same penchant for it. After initially hesitating at the edge of the waters, she got over her “fear” very quickly and was running up and down the shore. It was a great day indeed.

When people in the US are busy preparing for Halloween, people in the Philippines are busy preparing for All Saint’s Day/All Souls Day or Araw ng mga Patay. It is a day to commemorate the souls of departed loved ones. Almost everyone troops to the cemetery to bring flowers and offerings. It is also doubles as a time when you see most of your extended families. On the eve of the holiday some even sleep over at the gravesite of their loved ones to start cleaning and decorating them. You also see people go to Dapitan to buy highly affordable flowers to bring to the cemetery. This is also a time for others to go on holidays, especially as aside from the actual day, the eve of the holiday is usually declared a non-working holiday as well.

There are a lot of construction going around in the neighborhood, some are single level homes, some new extension showrooms for the different dealerships in the area and some metal buildings. Some friends are thinking about purchasing their own home but are trying to decide whether they want a newly built house, an existing house or just a land first and then eventually build their own. There are those that say to go buy the land and then build as it will come out cheaper and the house will be built to your design and specifications compared to say an existing house that you need to renovate or even off the plan houses. I don’t really know what is the best way to go about it, I just hope that we’ll have the chance to own our own home in the near future.

There is just something nice about groups singing especially acapella and for proof – “The Sing-off” is back for season 3. Magic happens whenever the group just comes together and everything clicks. I don’t have a favorite yet but so far am enjoying the performances. Here are some of them:

holidays
It’s nearing Christmas time and I still haven’t done my Christmas shopping list. I guess with all the recent expenses and saving up for the trip home next year it really is hard to think of spending much this coming holiday season. Although been hearing a lot of good buys over the internet, I think that might be a good alternative have to check out the different online stores and see whether or not I can find good deals. Just a quick search showed me some like urban outfitters coupon at dropdowndeals, that might be something to check out. Argh, I need to come up with my Christmas list first.
