facial problems

April 28th, 2009

Since the start of this pregnancy I noticed that my face started to breakout more than normal. My face is full of pimples and blackheads these days which I didn’t go through during my pregnancy with E. I don’t know if it’s aggravated by the facial wash and solutions that I’m using now or maybe I’m still getting used to the Aussie environment. When will my skin finally clear up? :(

gaming

April 28th, 2009

One of the gadgets that my brother has is a PS3. He originally bought one in HK a couple of years ago but recently he sold it as he purchased a newer version with a bigger hard drive. It was a little tough for them to find discs to play since the games are expensive but it was good that they were able to find a rental service, where they pay a monthly membership fee and have the discs that they want to borrow delivered to your home. That makes it a plenty cheap solution instead of buying the discs yourself.

another on the list

April 28th, 2009

With the coming baby, there are lots of little things that I need to prepare in advance especially since I’m due November. One of those will be greeting cards for Christmas. I know it’s too early for those but this will be one of the things that I’m sure will get put aside during those first few months of the baby. So might have to go do DIY greeting cards if I won’t be able to find ones in time.

easter show

April 23rd, 2009

We recently went to the Royal Easter Show held at the Sydney Olympic Park. We were there on a Saturday and there were really lots of people especially on the farmyard animals exhibits where you just follow the lines of people throughout. E would touch all the animals where he would put his hands carefully between the bars. We started the day on the kids carnival, we let E choose which rides he wants and we were surprised that he wanted to go on the free fall and the roller coaster and it was ok for him to ride it by himself, good thing he met the height requirement. Of course he didn’t miss the carousel and the bumper boat. After grabbing some lunch we went to the farmyard nursery and of course we couldn’t leave without getting a showbag. Even before we finished at the animals, E was already asking us for his showbag, which you can’t really not buy as all the kids there have at least one. So off we went to the showbag hall to buy him his ninja showbag, yes a ninja showbag, he didn’t really take notice of the other bags (like Cars, Wall-E, Wiggles, etc) all he really wanted was the ninja bag. And as soon as we got it he told me he was ready to go home, haha!

calls

April 23rd, 2009

It really just gets irritating when you get cold calls at home, some of them offer free health checkups, term life insurance quotes,  others offer you promos on packages or bundles for your phone. That is why we put our number on the national do not call registry so that we get to at least avoid most of these types of calls, though there are one or two calls that you get every so often from people or companies that ignore the register.

claims

April 16th, 2009

Last Sunday, we took a daytrip with some friends to The Entrance. After just staying home and resting for most of the Easter break, it was a nice change. E had a fun time chasing the birds and playing with our friends’ kids. Unfortunately, I lost my left contact lens (losing a lens always happens to me every few years haay!). As I don’t have my prescription here, I had an eye test with the optometrist and ordered a new pair of lenses. We were supposed to use our health plan membership card to get an on the spot rebate but the transaction couldn’t go through. It was also the same when we went to the dentist we still couldn’t use the card and will have to go the health fund centre to make a manual claim. Anyways, I’m finding that I’m starting to accumulate membership cards from different stores and companies here in Australia that can earn me points with my purchase or get discounts at their stores. I think I’m such a sucker for those as my wallet is starting to fill up.

two lines equals four

April 16th, 2009

Yes, we’re ..

and 10 wks along. We just had our first visit to the OB and so far so good. I still have to get some blood tests and the nuchal scan done before our next appointment. And so far we’re liking our OB after all the fuss with finding one like getting GP referrals, scouring the net for feedbacks. It was hard to settle on which doctor as we don’t know anyone personally that has had experience with the doctors that we were asking feedback on. I am really hoping that this pregnancy will be like the one I had with E. Another thing that I’m hoping for is that I won’t have a hard time slimming down after birth (I know that’s vain but really?!) and not have to resort to looking at slimming pills review. haha!

Oh and when asked E wants a siobe (little sister) and he’s very adamant about it too!

law stuff

April 6th, 2009

Recently on tv I’ve been seeing a lot of news feature on different stars or athletes with their legal troubles. They’re keeping their lawyers busy and really earning their keep. But there are also other types of lawyers that specialise on certain case like mesothelioma lawyers, lawyers that specialise on asbestos cases, they know the statutes of limitations, etc and can be a resource on the subject to help those that are affected. I guess it is good that there are a lot of different types of lawyers so you’ll be able to get one that will suit your need. Hopefully I won’t ever need one unless it’s one to make a living will or something like that.

tests

April 6th, 2009

There are a lot of tests or procedures out there that can be taken for us to be assured that we are indeed in good health or to just take precautions against certain types of diseases. Having recently been to the doctor, she’s having me take a pap smear as I haven’t had one since I gave birth four years ago so I’m really due for one. Another thing that you can probably do among the lot is to detox the body by doing a colon cleansing to remove all the toxins.

a short visit

April 1st, 2009

We just came from taking my BIL Gareth to the airport, he was here on a short visit before flying back to Manila. He was assigned for a while in Melbourne but his project ended already and since they didn’t have a new one for him the company sent him back home. He’re hoping his company bags the project their bidding on so that he can come back to Australia and then be able to visit with us again. E had fun having his bechiak (uncle) around and told him as they said goodbye at the airport that he’s really going to miss him. Till we see you again.
