I only discovered this series a few months ago, after reading some reviews about it and getting to see the movie trailer online. I finally decided to check it out, am starting with the audio book copy that I got my hands on and have been meaning to buy the book (hopefully I can squeeze that in on one of my errand runs). I am really getting excited with the movie coming out in November. Here’s a trailer.

Went to watch the movie last Wednesday with my mom and aunt. It’s a fun fun fun movie, I really enjoyed it a lot. My mom super enjoyed it that she is adding the Abba songs to her repertoire on their karaoke nights. Meryl Streep is such a good actress, you can really throw any role at her and she’ll just shine. And I so love Pierce Brosnan here.Â

A lot of people were stunned at the news of Steve Irwin’s death by a stingray the other day and I was one of them. I couldn’t believe the news when Ichi first told me so I quickly surfed the web and there was the news plastered all over various websites. Ichi and I are both fans, we liked to watch his shows on cable. What I liked about him was his enthusiasm and passion for wildlife and every bit of it was really captured on cam.

back from manila

We enjoyed every minute of our vacation in Manila, getting to see our families and catching up with some friends kahit na super singit na lang sa mga schedules. Our entire trip was mostly about the wedding as BIL & SIL asked us to help coordinate on the day, mas na-stress pa nga ako with their wedding than when I was planning mine :p. Kami ni Ton lang ata ang super harrased, hahaha. Anyways, everyone enjoyed the wedding and despite it not being that “organized”, our families we’re both happy with the whole celebration. E was super cute and pogi in his little barong and Ichi and I were really proud and happy that he walked the aisle, nagsusumpong nga nung una but when Ichi saw that he was looking at Karl (the ring bearer) walk, he put E down and E walked as well. It’s just a pity that we don’t have that many pictures as Ichi and I were both very busy at the wedding.

Movie time
I was deadset on watching some movies while back home (syempre chance ko ng makanood dahil the grandparents were more than willing to babysit) so I got my brother to take me to watch The Lake House starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, I watched the movie not only because I like Sandra but also because I loved the Korean movie, Il Mare which this movie is a remake of. Syempre we also made sure that we got to watch the highly anticipated Superman Returns which I also hope to catch again on IMAX.

E’s first carousel ride
Last June 24, after we picked up Ichi at the airport we went to the nearby SM City Clark and chanced upon a carousel in the middle of the mall. E was happily pointing at ride that we decided to let him try it. Here’s a pic of father and son on it.

HEAT
Ever since I read Lori’s post on HEAT (Edsa Shangri-la’s newest restaurant), I made sure that during our trip home we would try it out. So two Mondays ago off we went to Edsa Shang for a buffet lunch. I was pleasantly surprised that the place was almost full despite it being a Monday and lunch at that. The food was delicious, you will really want to try everything that they have to offer. The dessert bar was something that I was really looking forward to as I love sweets and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The buffet is definitely worth splurging on.

Red Eye

A couple of Saturdays ago, Ichi, ton and I were able to catch a flick. We initially planned to watch Sound Of Thunder as its plot sounded interesting but hearing bad reviews about it from my brother in law made us think twice. When we got to the cinema we opted to see Red Eye.

STORY (per itâ€™s website): Lisa Reisert (Rachel McAdams) hates to fly, but the terror that awaists her on the night flight to Miami has nothing to do with a fear of flying. Moments after takeoff, Lisaâ€™s seatmate, Jackson (Cillian Murphy), manacingly reveals the reason heâ€™s onboard: He is an operative in a plot to kill the Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security .. and Lisa is the key to its success. If she refuses to cooperate, her own father will be killed by an assassin awaiting a call from Jackson. Trapped within the confines of a jet at 30,000 feet, Lisa has nowhere to run and no way to summon help without endangering her father, her fellow passengers and her own life. As the miles tick by, Lisa knows she is running out of time as she desperately looks for a way to thwart her ruthless captor and stop a terrible murder.

I liked the movie and would recommend it if asked. Though there were predictable moments but there were also a lot of catch your breath scenes and I did find myself rooting for Lisa.
